The purpose of this book is to offer a critical and comprehensive exposition of the provisions of the Administration of Justice Law, No. 44 of 1973, so far as they relate to the law governing criminal procedure in Sri Lanka. In the context of sections of the contemporary Law which are identical with, or substantially similar to, the provisions contained in the Criminal Procedure Code, No. 15 of 1898, extensive use is made of case decided under the provisions of the earlier law.
