General English – Common Instruction(2021)

Genera English is a subject that every student who sits the Advanced Level Examination is supposed to face. The following is a brief explanation about the layout of the examination paper and how marks are awarded.

General English Paper – 1 (Time: One Hour)

Part A – Grammar and Vocabulary – 35 marks

Part B – Reading and Writing – 25 marks

Total Marks  – 60

When answering  paper, I,you get one hour: Paert A – Grammar and Vocabulary consisits of 05 sub parts, while Paert B – Reading and Writing consists of 03 sub parts

General English Paper – II (Time: Three Hours)
In addition, 10 minutes for reading 

Part A – Reading Skills – 50 marks
Part B – Dialogues – 25 marks
Part C – Writing Skills – 65 marks
Total Marks – 140

For paper II you get three hours. Part A – Reading Skills consists of 05 sub parts while Part B – Dialogues consists of sub parts while Part C – Writing Skills consists of 05 sub parts.
